I have tried several electric wine aerators over the years, so when I had the opportunity to try the Vinxper Expert Adjustable Electric Wine Aerator, I was eager to see how it compared.
Vinxper launched the Expert in 2024, and what immediately makes it different from other electric aerators I have used is its adjustable aeration. The Vinxper Expert can be set from 0 to 240 minutes, with the goal of simulating the effect of traditionally decanting a wine for that amount of time. Vinxper says the aerator is designed to work with 99% of young wines aged three to seven years.
That adjustability is probably my favorite feature.
When I open a bottle of wine, I will usually taste it first to determine if I think it needs aeration. If it does, the next question is how much aeration it needs. Sometimes a wine just needs a little air, while another wine can benefit from considerably more.
In the past, that could determine which aerator I used. With the Vinxper Expert, I can do everything with one aerator.
The dial on top lets you select the amount of aeration from 0 to 240 minutes. I can start at 0, taste the wine, and then increase the setting based on what I think the wine needs. It gives me much more control than an electric aerator that provides only one level of aeration.
Vinxper says its system combines the Venturi Effect with its patented Adjustable Aeration Technology. High-pressure, high-speed air is injected into the wine as it is poured to increase its exposure to oxygen. And unlike a traditional decanter, there is no waiting around for the wine.

There is another feature I appreciate that has nothing to do with aeration.
I occasionally use a popular wine preservation and pouring system. Even though I purchased its faster-pour needle, I still find myself waiting and waiting for my glass of wine to fill.
The Vinxper Expert pours wine at a much quicker rate. Press the button and the wine begins flowing into the glass. When I want a glass of wine, I would rather spend my time drinking it than watching it slowly pour.
Another improvement over some of the electric aerators I have owned is the rechargeable battery. The Vinxper Expert includes a USB Type-C charging cable, so there are no batteries to replace. Just plug it into the same type of charger you probably already use for other electronic devices. Vinxper says the built-in 1200 mAh battery takes about two hours to fully charge and can aerate up to 60 bottles on a charge.
For me, having a rechargeable aerator is simply more convenient than keeping replacement batteries around.
The Vinxper Expert uses an expandable stainless-steel tube that reaches down into the wine bottle. It can be adjusted for use with both standard 750 mL bottles and larger 1.5-liter bottles.
When everything is put away, I also like the included storage base. The aerator sits on the base along with the stainless-steel tube, so everything stays together instead of becoming another collection of wine accessories scattered around a drawer.

Cleaning an electric wine aerator can sometimes be the part nobody wants to deal with, but cleaning the Vinxper Expert is easy. Place the stainless-steel tube into clean water and press the button to pump the water through the aerator. Continue until the water runs clear, remove and rinse the telescoping tube, drain the remaining water from the aerator, and let everything dry. The unit also has a water-resistant design to make cleaning easier.
There is one minor inconvenience. Before using the Vinxper Expert for the first time, the instructions call for cleaning it using water and an empty wine bottle. That means you need to have an empty bottle available before you can get started.
My solution was simple. After I got that empty bottle, I kept it afterward, and now I use the same bottle whenever I clean the aerator.
The Vinxper Expert comes with both a Quick Start Guide and a larger user manual. The Quick Start Guide is particularly useful because it includes suggested decanting settings for different wine varietals. Of course, those are only starting points. Wine tastes are subjective, and part of the fun with the Vinxper Expert is being able to experiment with the settings yourself.
The aerator claims to be able to help with liquors too, but I did not test that.
Final thoughts
The biggest advantage of the Vinxper Expert for me is its versatility.
I have owned and used different wine aerators over the years, and they generally give you whatever amount of aeration they were designed to provide. With the Vinxper Expert, I get to decide how much aeration I want.
I can pour a wine at the 0-minute setting, taste it, and then decide whether to give it the equivalent of 30, 60, 120 minutes or even more aeration. I am not locked into one setting or one type of aerator.
Add in the rechargeable battery, fast pouring, easy cleaning, and convenient storage base, and the Vinxper Expert has become a very practical wine accessory.
The Vinxper Expert is available for purchase on their website or on Amazon.
