Texas wine lovers looking to deepen their knowledge of the Texas wine industry have a new opportunity this summer. The inaugural Hill Country Wine Camp will take place July 17-19, 2026, offering a three-day immersive experience designed to take participants beyond the tasting room and into the heart of Texas wine.
Hosted by the Texas Hill Country Wineries association, Wine Camp combines education, guided tastings, food pairings, and behind-the-scenes access to provide a comprehensive look at what makes Texas wine unique. Whether you’re a longtime Texas wine enthusiast or just beginning your journey, the weekend promises a fun and engaging experience led by some of the state’s top growers, winemakers, and wine professionals.
The weekend kicks off Friday evening at Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy a walk-around tasting featuring Spanish-inspired Texas wines from eight wineries paired with Spanish-influenced cuisine. This opening event sets the stage for a weekend focused on discovering the many influences and styles shaping Texas wine today.
Saturday’s activities move to Becker Vineyards for a full day of education and exploration from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Participants will learn the fundamentals of grape growing during a Vineyard 101 session and experience a guided comparative tasting focused on Roussanne and Mourvèdre grown in different Texas terroirs. The day also includes lunch, a blind tasting session, a wine board workshop, and a Texas barbecue dinner. It is a rare opportunity to learn directly from industry experts while developing tasting skills and gaining a better understanding of how Texas wines are crafted.
The weekend concludes Sunday morning at Texas Wine Collective with Bubbles & Brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Guests will sample Texas sparkling wines before participating in a hands-on wine judging session that offers a glimpse into how wines are evaluated and scored.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will hear directly from Texas grape growers, winemakers, and industry experts about the challenges and rewards of growing grapes in Texas, the winemaking process, the varietals that thrive in the state’s diverse growing regions, and how Texas wines pair with the bold flavors of Texas cuisine.
Wine Camp is designed for curious consumers who want to better understand the people, places, and processes behind Texas wine. More than just a series of tastings, it offers a chance to connect with fellow wine lovers while gaining a deeper appreciation for one of the country’s most exciting wine regions.
Tickets are available for individual days or for the entire weekend experience. Friday-only tickets are $115, Saturday tickets are $175, and Sunday tickets are $100. Guests can also purchase a full weekend pass for $350.
