Reddy Vineyards has had a long history in the Texas High Plains starting with their family vineyard in 1997 and then the start of making estate wines in 2019. The winery is available for winery tours by appointment in Brownfield, but now there is a new location for walk-in tastings in the Texas Hill Country.
The new location is in Stonewall at the former home of Cicada Cellars. I visited on a recent weekend and could see immediately the remodeling Reddy Vineyards had done. The new brand for the location is Reddy Wines along with a cool hip mascot that is featured on the external sign riding a motorcycle. The mascot is a Texas bobcat which is based on a real bobcat that was in owner Akhil Reddy’s backyard.
The entrance to the building has changed too and it’s now located on the side of the building. This will turn out nicely since patio seating has been placed outside the new entrance and can be enjoyed in privacy from the 290 traffic while being hidden behind the front wall.
The tasting room has been decorated in a nice modern motif with inviting tables since there is no seating at the tasting bar. This makes for a relaxing tasting with the wines being brought to each table. There is also a private members lounge available for private wine tastings that will include in-depth wine tastings.

- 2023 Petals & Clay (Sauvignon Blanc)
- 2019 VMR (Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne)
- 2019 Superior Texan (Sangiovese, Tannat)
- 2020 TNT (Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional)
- 2019 TX-BDX (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot)
The tasting guides were very friendly and informative about the Reddy wines. I counted four employees so there was always someone available to bring you the next wine to taste.
The new tasting room in the Texas Hill Country makes Reddy Wines more easily accessible to people to enjoy the award-winning wines made from about 38 varietals that Reddy Vineyards grows.
