A few years ago, it was hard to drive down Main Street in Fredericksburg without seeing the larger-than-life half-face of Flavio Andreucci staring back at you from the southeast corner of Washington and Main Streets. The Italian winemaker had his eye on the Texas Hill Country and made the move into the corner tasting room in January 2019. When that happened, they brought with them a rich history of seven generations of winemaking. Flavio, his wife Lara, their son, and various other family members make sure a bit of Italian magic happens in Fredericksburg when you walk through their door, from the true Italian accent to family recipes that pair naturally with their imported Italian wines.

Andreucci WineRoom on Main Street
Over the past five years at the downtown location, thousands of people have been transported to Tuscany, even if it is briefly over a tasting of their amazing wines. Another trip to Italy happens when the tables are set down in the middle of the tasting room and people come together to enjoy a seven-course dinner paired precisely with a range of wines from their Prosecco to their premium Vigna 1810. Each wine is presented in its own special glass that is left on the table until the end of the night. These dinners are similar to those of their Italian Culture in that dinners start late, and the table is yours for the evening.

As these dinners became more popular as well as their wine tastings and wine club parties, the thought crossed their mind that they should look for either a larger venue or even a second location. A few options presented themselves, but then the perfect venue popped up! Some people have driven by the old building and haven’t thought twice about it. Some have known it for some of the places it has been in the past. Well, it has definitely garnered much attention with a beautiful facelift over the last few months. Now as you drive down Hwy 290 and you get to Altstadt Brewery, look to the east and notice the beautiful old building where the new location is.

Early in April, Flavio and Lara opened the doors and welcomed visitors for the first time to their spacious new second tasting room. This new second location will have everything the Main Street location offers just in a larger setting with ample room to sit inside, outside on the covered patio, and a lovely Wine Club Lounge. Even the kitchen received a makeover. Virtually everything you see was produced and specially selected by Flavio in Italy. Even Flavio and his son provided much of the hands-on labor.

Now they have lots of room to prepare those famous pairing dinners.

However, when you think of Andreucci WineRoom, don’t let that first thought of them be as a restaurant. They want to feed you just enough while tasting their wines so that it whets your appetite and makes you want to go visit the real thing. They would love to have you join them on one of their guided tours to Tuscany or Sicily.

For seven days and one price, you will be immersed in Italian culture and history as Flavio guides you expertly around his beloved Tuscany. One night during your stay, you will be guests at the Andreucci family vineyard near Montefollonico for a seven-course pairing dinner in the vineyard.

Flavio will also be your tour guide as you experience the area through local arts, a cooking class, truffle hunting, and all the beautiful sights you can stand. A private shuttle will pick you up from the airport in either Rome or Florence and will take you to the hotel in Tuscany and back again on the final day as well as everywhere else during the trip. There are two trips to Tuscany in May and two trips in September.

In October, a seven-day trip to Sicily is offered. The beauty, culture, and tranquility of Sicily is yours as you stay in charming hotels located in the heart of Trapani and Taormina. Again, transportation to and from the airports and everywhere you go is included. Be prepared for a guided visit to historical coastal villages, Greek ruins, and lunches at Flavio’s favorite eateries. Every evening concludes with sharing a lovely dinner together.

Airfare is not included in either trip. This allows you to arrive when you want to enjoy some time on your own. Be sure to visit their website at www.vinoandreucci.com and look under the “Events” tab for more information. You can also find out more about their amazing wine club and all the special perks that are available. You do not have to enter your email address in order to view the information available.
You are definitely treated like special family members, but not the weird cousin.
Check Facebook or their website for current hours at both locations or the Texas Wine Lover listings on Main Street or Highway 290.
Ciao
