There are a lot of features on the Texas Wine Lover website, and we started writing about them so you can learn about them and be able to use the many resources available. We’re moving across the website’s menu with a blog post about each menu item, so let’s dive deeper into the Fun Stuff menu.
Who doesn’t want to have fun? The Texas Wine Lover (TWL) website is no exception.

The first item on the “Fun Stuff” menu is Texas Wine Festivals. Texas Wine Lover has always been known for having the most concise list of wine festivals in Texas. Since the list of festivals is for the entire year and many festivals later in the year are not fully planned, the date may have a question mark (?) indicating we are guessing on the date. When the wine festival information is available, we update the information and remove the question mark. If you work with a festival, please keep us in the loop about your wine festival and we’ll get it added to the list!

The next menu item is Spread the Word about Texas Wine! We started this program back in early 2023. It is similar to a program that Go Texan had years ago to convince restaurants to carry Texas wine, but these days, there are other businesses such as wine bars and stores where consumers can suggest to those businesses to also carry Texas wine. Download the card file, print it, cut the cards out, and then present them to local businesses to help spread the word about Texas wine.

There are some good podcasts out there that help spread the word of Texas wine and that’s what the Wine Podcasts menu item is for. Podcasts can be listed in the Guide and mobile app in the Services category, and this is where you can find those to listen to.

In addition to podcasts, there are other websites that are related to Texas wine besides Texas Wine Lover. The next menu item of Wine Websites is where you can find those that have been listed in the Guide and mobile app in the Services category.

It’s always fun coming up with a reason to enjoy a glass of Texas wine, and the National and International Wine Days menu item does exactly that. Here we list the different days throughout the year for the different varietal days. When we researched to create the list, we discovered there was no National Viognier Day or National Mourvèdre Day, so we created those days! Now we can celebrate a wonderful Texas Viognier or Mourvèdre on a specific day of the year with everyone.

The next menu item is TWL Audio. Yes, from 2014-2018, Texas Wine Lover had its own podcast. The plan then was to have short 10-minute episodes because as we know with TikTok and other videos, the attention span is short for a lot of people. The podcast was only done on location at wineries or Texas wine events, so there was not a regular schedule that could be done like sitting at home producing a podcast. We learned a lot about a podcast while doing it and some of the episodes are not the best quality, but we enjoyed doing it and providing unique information to listeners. You can listen to the different episodes here. There was one episode in particular involving members of the Texas wine industry while at Grape Camp that year that is really fun to listen to.
And finally, there is the Stuff We Like menu item. Texas Wine Lover has done many reviews since 2011 and finding all those reviews is difficult, so this helps provide a place to find those. We also have a Texas Wine Lover online shop and this page talks about some of those items we offer for sale.
We hope this has helped you understand the Fun Stuff menu. Take some time, peruse the website, and most of all, have fun!
