Wall Street Winery sounds like it should be in the Financial District of New York City, but it is located in downtown Sherman, Texas. The winery was founded by Dave and Heather Hickman, and Dave primarily manages the winery now.
It was easy to find the winery with adjacent parking. The tasting room has a nice L-shaped tasting bar and extra seating at tables. A nice gift shop is in the front of the winery with food products such as jars of pickles, hot sauce, and salsa plus wine accessories.
Dave was just finishing up with some customers and then welcomed me to the tasting room. We were talking about the tasting room and Dave mentioned how they really enjoy doing wine festivals and that’s where they see the best wine sales. The winery maintains a list of festivals they will be attending on their website, so all customers know where to find them.
Most of the wines available are fruit or sweet wines, but there are traditional wines too. These are some of the wines available at the time of my visit:
- Fruit Wines
- Strawberry
- Cherry
- Elderberry
- Strawberry Banana
- Fruit Flavored Grape Wines
- Blackberry
- Sangria
- Green Apple
- Watermelon Basil
- Peach
- Coconut Lime
- Traditional Wines
- Pink Catawba – sweet rosé
- Concord Grape – sweet red wine
- Vignoles – semi-dry white from Vignoles grapes
- Rhys-ling – semi-dry wine
- Seasonal Wines
- Winter Spice (usually served warm)
I enjoyed the Coconut Lime and Peach wines which are some of the best sellers.
