There are different modes of transportation to make your trip to a Texas winery. Just like the movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles that starred Steve Martin and John Candy, we commonly take automobiles and planes to get to Texas wineries, but you can take a train too!
Wedding Oak Winery at Burnet introduced the Wedding Oak Wine Train last year to a very popular success. This fall the train trip is back.
The Wine Train departs from the Cedar Park Depot (401 E. Whitestone, C-100, Cedar Park, TX 78613) and ends up at Wedding Oak Winery in Burnet. There are three dates for the wine train this year that happens on a Sunday: September 24, October 8, and November 19. The train departs at 11:00 a.m. sharp and returns at 5:00 p.m.
Passengers will enjoy a two-hour train ride from Cedar Park spanning the South San Gabriel River while enjoying an intimate talk and wine tasting with members of the Wedding Oak Winery family. In Burnet, food and wine is available for purchase during the two-hour layover at the stunning tasting room of Wedding Oak Winery. Complete with two-story views, a patio, and a rooftop terrace, Wedding Oak has made its home in the historic 1888 Badger Building, in the heart of Burnet’s town square. After enjoying food and wine, relax and enjoy the ride as the train returns to the Cedar Park Depot in the afternoon. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will be available for purchase on the return trip. Alcohol will not be served and may not be consumed on the return trip.
The Wine Train is only for ages 21 and up. Your ticket ($79 to $84 each) includes the two-hour train ride and a tasting-sized flight of five wines. Full-sized servings, bottles to-go, and food are available for purchase in the Wedding Oak tasting room during the layover in Burnet only.
