Water 2 Wine has been around for years with the opportunity for a wine lover to become an owner of a winery through their franchise program. Texas Wine Lover has visited different Water 2 Wine locations over the years, but what did we find when we visited Water 2 Wine in Buda?
Upon first entering the winery, you are greeted by a tasting bar with an attractive water wall behind the bar with wine barrels behind it. I stepped up to the tasting bar and when it was my turn in line, I asked if wine tastings were done – they were!

Dane Aziz
I was soon introduced to Dane Aziz, co-owner and winemaker. We were soon seeing each other frequently as he also volunteered later at the Texas International Wine Competition and then attended the Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association annual conference.
I looked through the menu trying to decide on four wines for the wine flight. There was a choice from 12 dry whites and 22 reds, 17 sweet, and 6 dessert wines. Of course, I asked for any Texas wines. Dane said he usually has Texas wines and works with winemaker Michael Barton of Hilmy Cellars to get fruit for the wines, but as we know, Texas fruit for 2022 was not plentiful, so he did not get a chance to get fruit. In this case, I could understand their motto: “World Sourced, Texas Made.”
I selected these four wines for my tasting:
- Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay
- The Carrington (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel)
- Australian Shiraz
- Whiskey River Red (Cabernet aged in a whiskey barrel)
All the wines were very good. While I was tasting, I was thinking how I was told the wines were low sulfite wines and were about 90% less sulfites than wines you may find on the shelf. The red wines are made to age 5-7 years.
I was impressed with Water 2 Wine in Buda and I look forward to tasting Dane’s Texas wines in the future.
