It’s that time again when we wish a happy anniversary to Texas Wine Lover! Nothing has really happened over the past year. Ha ha! The past year has probably contained the most changes in the 12 years since I created the Texas Wine Lover blog on March 20th, 2011.
As I often said in the past, Texas Wine Lover started as a blog, but it soon became much more than a blog, so I called it a website. In December 2022, I introduced a redesigned website with a Guide, Plan Your Trip, and the Texas Wine Lover mobile app! Now I can’t call it a website because it’s also a mobile app. What do I call Texas Wine Lover now?
We have blog posts, winery listings, vineyard listings, a Texas wine festival list, reviews, trip planning, business listings, and much more. I just looked and over twelve years, we have written 2,189 blog posts. That’s over three posts a week!
Over the years I have visited a lot of Texas wineries that have come and gone. Looking at the number now, I have visited almost 500 Texas wineries over the years in every part of this wonderful state. After having said that, it appeared that visiting Texas wineries is in my wheelhouse, so it made sense that I needed to improve the winery listings on the website and create a mobile app to help people find Texas wineries.
I have always been busy working on the website, but after the additions to the website and creating the mobile app, I realized I had a problem. I quadrupled the amount of work I needed to do! I needed to find someone to help me. I didn’t have to look far because I already had a writer for Texas Wine Lover who had business experience and that was Amie Nemec. I reached out to Amie, and after twisting her arm, we came to a partnership agreement, and were off and running!
Right now, I would like to thank the advertisers who have helped Texas Wine Lover over the years and especially during the past year. The website redesign and mobile app cost a lot of money, and it was helped partially because of the advertisers. Thank you! The ironic thing is with the new Plan Your Trip and mobile app, we have more opportunities to help businesses with advertising. Download our advertising package today.
Our social media presence is still going strong with a strong following on our Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. Our Facebook group is very active and probably the best Texas wine Facebook group.
Thanks to everybody who has supported Texas Wine Lover through the years, and from what Amie tells me, you haven’t seen anything yet!
