The Texas Hill Country Wine Scholarship program began in 2016 as a way for THCW to continue its commitment to supporting industry education and the advancement of Texas wine. In total, more than $55,500 has been awarded to 47 students. Funding for the scholarship is made possible by a portion of proceeds from three of the THCW Passport events, the Texas Wine Jam, and Golf Tournament, as well as individual, winery, and business donations.
“This scholarship program is a fantastic way to support the future and continued growth of the wine industry in Texas. This type of industry support serves as not only financial but moral support for individuals who hope to have an impact through their research and in their future work,” said Jacy Lewis, Grad Student, Texas A&M, Horticultural Sciences, 2021 scholarship recipient.
