We received the product for review and all opinions are our own.
During times like these, many of us are finding new opportunities to check out things we never tried before. Here at Texas Wine Lover we received a different kind of request involving an opportunity to review music that might pair perfectly with drinking wine. Being adventurous, and open to a broad genre of musical styles I said sure thing.
I was not familiar with this artist before listening to his work but was definitely intrigued by someone interested in having his music reviewed and enjoyed by wine lovers. Someone with a deeper interest in getting a variety of people to listen and experience his work sounded like a great idea to me. First off, I loved the name as “The Bigger Picture” plants the notion that these tunes may have a bit more to offer and ponder as I pair it with wine and dive into my listening session to explore.
Contemplative, introspective, and insightful are some of the ways I would describe the lyrics to the tracks of this collection of songs. Definitely a man evaluating his feelings and love for another and delving into the deeper meaning of where this relationship is heading and the impact it has on his life and future. I found his lyrics provoking and something many of us can relate to as we have pondered our own love interests over time. The songs are well written, and the music has a nice modern jazzy, melodic feel. The reflective quality of the songs lends itself to a more mellow chilled vibe and pairs nicely with relaxing with a bottle of wine as you listen to the songs unfold, enjoying the music and wondering what happens to this couple and did they eventually wind up together?
The tracks complement one another and there are no stark contrasts in the music as you move between tunes. You explore the ups and downs and trials and tribulations as the heart and head struggle between feelings and logic trying to make sense of what one feels, perceives, and believes. I enjoyed the music and thought Justin’s work was definitely wine bar worthy. You can feel the heartfelt seriousness and earnestness of his love and feelings. I encourage you to check out Justin’s music and “The Bigger Picture” to not only explore his sound and music, but also have some cool tunes to complement your next glass of wine. Maybe you can tell me if you think they get together or not. I think it’s worth the listen and hope you seek him out too. His music will pair nicely with whatever bottle and varietal you choose, and you can enjoy alone or with others. Cheers!
