Ever think you might want a convenient fridge for your wine that stores both bottles and the increasingly popular wine cans, or cans for other beverages you might prefer? Well, NewAir has a model that is available that can help solve this dilemma for you and provide you with dual temperatures in both zones as well. The model AWB-400DB Dual Zone Wine and Beverage Fridge is 22.50” deep, or 24” with the handle, and 23.5” wide x 33” high. This model weighs 119 pounds and uses 90 watts of power. The storage capacity is 70 standard cans in the upper zone region, which is the top two shelves of the fridge, and 20 standard wine bottles in the lower section of the fridge which consists of three shelves.

The model arrived well packaged and secure in its dual boxes. We were pleased to note that there was no damage to the fridge, and the model had a sleek and stylish design in black with stainless steel front door. The door of the fridge has a comfortable and very secure handle, and a glass front allowing easy view into the model to see items on shelves and easily view the current temperatures of the fridge.

Upon setting the fridge up and getting it plugged in and programmed, I found it was easy to program. It was very easy to get set up as it arrives ready to plug in and use. You just need to unwrap the shelves and place them in the fridge, the handle is easy to attach, and with just a little effort you are set. I am pleased to report this model runs very quietly with little noise emitting from the unit. This would be an ideal option for a family or entertainment room for frequent access without having concerns of background noise.

The dual temperature feature provides a range of 36 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit for the upper zone and a range of 50 degrees to 66 degrees Fahrenheit for the lower zone. The visual display on the fridge very clearly shows the temperatures for both zones and is easy to adjust and program. The temperature buttons for both regions are located in the middle of the fridge with round buttons featuring up and down arrows helping to ensure ease of use for owners. We followed the recommendation for users and allowed our fridge temperatures to stabilize for 24 hours before using it after we initially plugged it in and set it up.

There are three wire shelves for the top section of the fridge for the cans and two wooden shelves for the lower section for the wine storage. All of the shelving glides in and out easily so you can pull them in and out to search or look at the items you have stored on each shelf. This feature made this wine fridge highly desirable for us as we appreciated the extra feature allowing us to quickly pull out a shelf to search for something lying down in that section without having to pull a lot of bottles to get to something in the fridge. Shelves also click into place so you know when the shelf is pushed all the way back into the fridge. All shelving is well made and smooth and easily fits into the fridge.

The versatility of this model is that it is designed to store both canned items in the top section and wine bottles in the lower section, however, we also noted the ability to actually use the upper area to store additional wine bottles as well since they could easily lie down and fit nicely in this section too. You can readily adjust the placement of the wire shelves in the top section to accommodate bottles if you desired. This model holds standard sized bottles of wine, or smaller and regular 12-ounce cans. The dual temperature feature is easy to use and adjust and makes this smaller sized fridge a very convenient option for many places in a home. The model easily maintained consistent temperatures in both zones.

There is a grill area at the base of the fridge that is easily removed using a special key that comes with the model. This allows for easy access to the area to clean dust and debris from under the system. It is also recommended that one clean the unit compressors at least every six months to help ensure the fridge is operating optimally and extend the life of the unit.

Ultimately, there is nothing “cheap” about the features in this model and its design is sleek, and the shelving is convenient to use and of a high-quality material. The door has a substantial weight, yet also opens and closes easily and quietly.

Having purchased a few different models of wine fridges from large box stores in the past, I did like this model better due to the additional features and functional smart design.
