For all the William Chris Vineyards fans, there’s even more to love!
Breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country, Texas wines that set the bar very high and lots of comfortable outdoor seating to take it all in, what else could you want for your Texas Hill Country wine experience? The team at William Chris has designed the ultimate wine tasting as well as food pairing experiences tailored to their wines with small plates prepared by Chef Ty.
Our tour began with Luke Hricik, Tasting Room Manager, greeting us with a glass of rosé. Luke, a Texas native, made his way back home from working among the vineyards in California and was excited to show us what’s new at William Chris. His enthusiasm for the winery and what it stands for is infectious and he is proud to showcase 100% Texas wines-dirt to glass-where the wines are celebrated examples of what the Texas terroir has to offer.

Tasting is believing.
Next, we made our way to the brand-new tasting room. William Chris’s new Hye Society Wine Club members tasting room is spacious and impeccably designed for the ultimate tasting experience of their wines. There is ample seating which has been tailored for comfort and lots of natural lighting to relax and enjoy your visit. Tastings of their renowned wines will be poured by a tasting room expert and you will be guided through the wines and get the details about the grapes, grape growing, and what goes into making the exceptional wines of William Chris. This new state-of-the-art tasting room is so popular, reservations are required, so head to their website to secure your spot soon.
An intimate and distinctive wine pairing experience awaits you in the new and custom designed tasting room.
The brand-new room with gorgeous repurposed wooden tables and a great view of the property will put you in the mood to dive into the wine and chef-prepared pairings.
Texas-inspired Mexican Street Tacos and 100% Texas wine is the perfect example of where local wines and cuisine are a harmonious pairing. This new tasting experience left us craving more! Chef Ty has created a tasting menu using local and seasonal ingredients to complement the William Chris wines. We really enjoyed Chef Ty’s Street Taco with smoky brisket, lime, salty queso fresco, and pickled cabbage which was the perfect match for the black fruit, plum, and spicy Hunters Blend (Merlot and Malbec). I can’t wait to see what delicious pairings Chef Ty has in store for some of my other favorites such as Roussanne, Mourvèdre, and Pét-Nat.
What a view we ended with!
We were guided up the staircase to get a bird’s eye view of the vineyard. One of the greatest pleasures of the Texas wine country is sipping on a glass of wine and taking in the picturesque scenery where the vines grow. Sit back and enjoy the experience at William Chris Vineyards. Regardless of whether you are sipping on the wine with a food or just taking in the scenery, you’ll be enchanted by Texas wines, the view, and how food and wine pairings come together to highlight the best of what Texas has to offer.
