A winery makes wine and a vineyard grows grapes! Sometimes a winery can have a vineyard where they get their grapes from, but often a vineyard in Texas only grows grapes and then sells them to wineries.

Barons Creek Wine Room

The new tasting room expansion for Barons Creek Vineyards is situated right in the heart of the historic Georgetown downtown square in a beautifully renovated old building, providing both exceptional character and a very refined feel to this beautiful space. The new Barons Creek Wine Room opened on July 4th just in time for folks to come out and check out the wines and venue. Opened for a little over a month now, what patrons will find unique to this tasting room is that the customer base is more local with Austin area and numerous Georgetown wine club members and wine enthusiasts stopping by initially to check out the place, and then returning on a more regular basis due to the convenient location, the exceptional customer service, great wines, and later hours that this tasting room offers. Currently they are opened now six days a week and stay open later than other wineries on the square, providing them a great opportunity to fill a gap in the local scene that customers have been craving.

The winery features the wines you will find at the original Barons Creek Vineyards in Fredericksburg in addition to select small bites to pair with the wines. There are chocolates and a special wine pairing one can do with those. You can also get Stanzesk’s cheese and charcuterie plates to enjoy with your wines. As General Manager and Sommelier. Anthony Makoujy. shared, this is such a unique spot that the team is enjoying, and they are encouraging patrons to sit and stay for a while not only to enjoy the wines, but to also bring friends and enjoy the company and live music regularly featured. Local wine club members can also pick up their regular shipments at this location, making this a more convenient option for those in the Central Texas area. The first wine club pick up will be in September and new wine vintages are expected to be released then too for guests to enjoy.

The wines feature grapes from Spain, Texas, California, and Washington. So, there is a little something for everyone on the menu from sparkling cava to whites, and a broad variety of reds from each of these regions. One need not be a member to stop by for a tasting or to purchase wine, however, there are attractive benefits of being a club member. Members can purchase for $89 a year, the added feature of coming by regularly for discounts on their glasses of wine and the opportunity for two to attend their Wine 101 classes. The wine education classes are held Sunday evenings or every other Wednesday allowing patrons to expand their knowledge of wines. This option is only available at the Georgetown location but is a great add on for those who feel they will be more frequent customers to the wine room and wish to get in on the added benefits of being a member.

By the look of things, they are off to a great start and appear to be on the verge of becoming one of the hottest spots to hang out and relax at in Georgetown. The space is upscale, attractive, and still very comfortable, and offers a new option for folks looking to check out a new date night spot, or introduce family, friends, and neighbors to a hip spot to hang out and enjoy great wine and live music. If you have not yet stopped by, please do. Anthony and his team will make you feel very welcome and work to ensure you have a memorable tasting with them. You will be well and attentively cared for here.
