With more wineries opening and vineyards being planted in Texas, education is vital for the people involved. Different organizations have conferences and symposiums around the state to provide educational seminars, and now East Texas has a Symposium to also provide education. The Sages Vintage Symposium will take place on Saturday, May 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sages Vintage is located near Nacogdoches and to help serve their clients and East Texas vineyards and wineries, they are bringing expert industry professionals to speak on different topics affecting three major areas of the Texas wine industry business.
Vineyard: Fritz Westover of Westover Vineyard Advising will speak on fertilization of your vineyard. He will also explain how you can access him and his expertise through his Virtual Viticulture Academy.
Wine Packaging: Luke Holcombe of Scott Labs will go in-depth on glass, cork, caps, and how this affects your brand.
Sales: Stacy Rollins of Vine 2 Wine will discuss the sales attitude, presentation, and process in the tasting room. This will be in a Q&A format so be sure to bring your questions.
The event will take place in Sages Vintage newly constructed building. Lunch will be available for purchase by Brendyn’s Bar-B-Q. The Symposium is free, but please bring money to pay for lunch.
Of course, Sages Vintage makes Texas wines, so there will be wine tasting presented by Sages Vintage after lunch.
You can find information on the Sages Vintage Symposium Facebook page, but please RSVP to sagesvintage@gmail.com so they can ensure they have enough lunch available.
