Lucky Vines Vineyard & Winery is located in Dublin, Texas and is owned by Jeff and Kimberly Hutchins. The winery opened September 28, 2018.
The Lucky Vines vineyard is seven acres with Syrah, Montepulciano, and Tempranillo. The vineyard and winery are visible from the nearby U.S. 377, however there is no entrance from the highway, so you must follow the signs to come around the other side via a dirt road.
There is a great view of the vineyard while you are tasting in the tasting room or sitting on the large deck outside. The tasting room has been built with all windows being roll up doors. This allows them to be opened during nice weather to extend the tasting room onto the deck.
I sat at the tasting bar to do my tasting and there are numerous other tables in the room too. There is a tasting fee for your choice of seven one-ounce pours, and the tastings are poured with a measured pourer. Crackers are available to cleanse your palate during the tasting. Food can be purchased such as a cheese board and summer sausage.
These are the wines that were available at the time of my visit:
- Aglianico 2016
- Beginner’s Luck 2016 (Syrah). This is the only estate wine currently and second leaf fruit was used.
- Viognier 2017
- Dry Rosé 2017 (Grenache and Mourvèdre)
- Rosé 2017 (Grenache and Mourvèdre) – semi-sweet
- Cordelia 2017 (carbonated Orange Muscat) – semi-sweet
- Orange Muscat 2017 – sweet. Same as Cordelia except a still wine.
- Lucky Lass (Orange Muscat with natural peach flavors)
The winery only uses 100% Texas grapes. They use different producers to help make their initial wines, and their 2018 harvest is already at a custom crush facility. There is a wine club available to join and enjoy their wines.

There is a small gift shop with clothing, jelly, gourmet crackers, and even an authentic Dublin Dr Pepper (production ended in 2012). Events are held such as live music and karaoke.
When you are in the Dublin area, definitely take time to visit Lucky Vines Vineyard & Winery.
We have a wine festival in September and we would like you to attend if you can
