If you’re heading to Wine Road 290 in the Hill Country to visit Texas wineries on a weekend, you’ll definitely need a place to stay overnight. If you’re tired of a typical hotel or motel, you may want to stay at a house where you have it all to your own!
One end of Wine Road 290 is in Johnson City, Texas. The town is getting to be very popular with more businesses opening up and now there is an Airbnb cottage that you may want to stay at. We had two couples stay there recently one weekend and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
Farmhouse Vineyards Guest Cottage is a nice 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath house easily found in Johnson City. Each bedroom has a king size bed! In between each bedroom is the joint full bath with plenty of room. If you have another person staying, they can sleep on the foldout sofa in the living room.
When you first enter the cottage through the overhang porch, a living room with sofa, other seating, and a beautiful large window overlooking the outside yard awaits. Following through the house is the dining room complete with a vintage record player. Yes, kids, there used to be a thing called records or albums long before there were CDs or now digital music. The half bath is adjacent to this room along with a wine cork collection on the wall. Be sure to leave a cork!
The large kitchen comes next with everything you need to prepare your meals. An Airbnb does not usually provide a breakfast, but if you are not a big eater, there are some snacks available with of course a Keurig maker that will satisfy you in the morning.
Next to the kitchen is a washer and dryer available if you need to wash your clothes during your stay. And room-wise, that’s pretty much it. It is a cottage after all, but plenty big enough for you to stay out of each other’s way if you need to. The backyard is fenced in if you have pets, so you can be sure they will not scamper away. The half circle driveway in front of the cottage will accommodate three cars.
Amenities in the cottage are air conditioning and heating along with a strong Wi-Fi signal. There is no television though, so come to Johnson City to relax and enjoy the time away from your house.
One warning is the two bedrooms face the main road of 290, so you may hear traffic during the day, but most likely you will be out visiting Texas wineries to not even hear it. At night nobody in our party had any problem with the slight traffic noise.
Farmhouse Vineyards Guest Cottage is brought to you by the same folks from Farmhouse Vineyards who have the Farmhouse Vineyards Tasting Trailer nearby which is a converted Airstream trailer. The trailer is in walking distance from the cottage, so go enjoy a tasting and simply walk back when you are done.
Next time you are in the area and need a place to stay, check out the Farmhouse Vineyards Guest Cottage on Airbnb. They also have a Facebook page which you can follow. Cheers!
