We received the product for review and all opinions are our own.
One of the things you find out early when you start enjoying wine is you start buying more and more wine bottles. When you have a number of bottles, you then need to find someplace to store them. If you have a wine cooler, then you have an immediate place to put them. But what if you want to display some special wines you may have? That’s when it is time to get some kind of wine rack. Wine racks come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from table top, floor standing, and wall hanging, to metal, plastic, and wood. Today’s wine accessory review is on a wood wall hanging wine rack.
Loma Living makes various wall hanging racks for different items including wine bottles. The wine rack we received for review is an 8 bottle wine rack with dark finish. When I first opened the box and pulled out the wine rack, my first thought was, that’s it? Upon closer look, the board is a piece of cedar that has 8 angled holes in it for wine bottle necks to be inserted, and there are two keyhole mounts on the back of the rack for the included screws to hang on the wall. The rack is finely sanded, along with a nice dark finish that accents the natural wood grain. After I realized what I had in my hands, the realization came that one does not need anything more to hold wine bottles safely on the wall.
This wine rack is 32 inches tall, 3.5 inches deep, and 1¾ inches wide. Your next challenge is to find a wall with a wood wall stud to install the wine rack. Unfortunately, I did not have a location to install the wine rack, so I propped it up against the wall to test how it worked with inserted wine bottles.
When I inserted a bottle in the correct angled hole depending on the side of the wine rack, I was surprised that the bottle did not stay at that angle. After I had inserted four bottles, I then realized it was on purpose that the bottles did not stay at the hole’s angle. The holes are cut so the bottles end up laying horizontal and parallel to each other.
The Loma Living wood wine racks come in different sizes depending on how many bottles you want to display. Sizes available are 4, 6, 8, 12, and 18. If you are looking for a handcrafted minimalist wine rack to display your wine bottles, then you should look at Loma Living’s variety of wine racks.
