Nothing like enjoying a wonderful glass of wine from a great Texas Hill Country winery while enjoying some live music on an outdoor patio just off a fantastic downtown square. Where is this you may ask? Ever heard of Georgetown? Some wineries are getting wise to the idea of having more than one location for customers to visit, and Grape Creek Vineyards is one Hill Country winery that took advantage of opening a second tasting room over four years ago in a great downtown spot on a bustling historic square. Located across the street from the Courthouse at 101 West 7th Street, this spot is easy to find and has ample parking for visitors.
In case you are not familiar with the Georgetown location, this is a smaller tasting room located in a historic building on the downtown square. This two-story limestone building features a stand-up bar area on the ground floor where the tastings and sales happen. The second floor is reserved for club members to relax and hang out as they enjoy sipping their favorite wine with great views of the downtown courthouse and square. With the courthouse and square lit up for the holidays, it is a particularly beautiful time of year to come and enjoy the views from the member’s lounge.
Aside from the sheer opportunity to expand and allow more customers to experience the vast selection of great Texas wines they produce, this venue also provides wine club members in the greater Austin area an opportunity to visit their tasting room more frequently. One of the benefits of the Grape Creek wine club is that members have the option of having their wines shipped or picking up their shipments at any of their locations. Having the flexibility of picking up your wines a little closer to home is a time saver.
One of the coolest features is their patio located just behind the main tasting room. It’s a nice shaded patio area featuring plenty of tables and seating for guests to enjoy a bit of people watching or cool breezes on warm Texas days and evenings. On weekends, you can usually find live music being performed for guests out on the patio and misters provide added comfort for guests during the particularly hot summer days.
The tasting room offers various gourmet food items like their grapeseed oil, dessert sauces, dipping sauces, mustards, and interesting and unique wine related gifts that can be purchased to enjoy with their wine, or buy to tuck into a holiday gift basket. Speaking of holiday gift baskets, they can help you with that too if you are looking for some special Texas wines to gift others this holiday season. Their experienced tasting room staff are available to help with any of your questions, and will be happy to help you finish off your holiday shopping list. Stop by to visit them and enjoy some great Texas wine this holiday season!
