M6 Winery is located in Bullard and is owned by Joe and Anne Moody. The winery opened April 1, 2016 and has been offering mostly Texas wines since then.
Bullard is near Tyler and we found the urban winery easily in the small town. We met co-owner Joe Moody who was working behind the tasting bar and he started us on a tasting of his wines. One of the first questions I asked was, “What does M6 mean?” Sorry for the tease, but the answer is at the bottom of this post.
Tastings are done while standing at the tasting bar and there is a tasting fee for your choice of five wines from the tasting menu. The wines are poured from the uncorked bottles and you have a choice of using a GoVino glass for a little higher fee.
Here are the wines that were available when we visited:
- Sangria
- Sparkling Wine
- Viognier
- Wildflower (off-dry white blend)
- Blue Norther (Riesling)
- Sweet Tex Anne (sweet Muscat Canelli)
- Tyler Rose (Rosé of Muscat Canelli and Chenin Blanc with a bit of Zinfandel)
- Blushing Texan (sweet Rosé)
- Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 (Lodi)
- Malbec 2014
- Friendship Red (Ruby Cabernet)
- Red Texana (semi-sweet Ruby Cabernet)
- Cocoa Texas (sweet dessert wine from Ruby Cabernet)
- Philosopher’s Choice (Port style made from Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Malbec, Souzão, Zinfandel – Lodi)
All wines are from Texas grapes except the Cabernet Sauvignon and Port which both are from Lodi. The Wildflower wine will be retired soon and the replacement wine will be called Blue Bonnet. Joe makes the wines with the help of Homestead Winery‘s facilities and there is a wine club you can join.

Food is available for purchase while you are tasting, or if you want to sit and enjoy a glass of wine at one of the many tables available. Foods available at the time of our visit were a cheese tray, meat and cheese tray, extra virgin olive oil with bread, and dried fruit and almonds.
The winery has events like live music, wine pairing classes, and cupcake pairing (yum!). Private parties can also be reserved at the winery. Personalized wine labels are available for your special events to adorn your M6 bottles of wine. The gift shop has various items for sale such as clothing, wine accessories, and decorative items made from barrel staves.
Oh, what does M6 mean? Well, there is Joe and Anne plus four children which equals 6 people, and of course the M stands for their last name Moody. Simple, huh? Next time you are in the Tyler area, take a side trip to Bullard and visit M6 Winery.
Thanks Jeff for stopping by M6. We value your comments! I’m sorry I wasn’t there with Joe to meet you! Happy New Year! Cheers! – Anne Moody
Hi Anne. Sorry we missed you too. We’ll just need to stop by the next time we’re in the area! Cheers!
