The year is winding down and wine festivals have now for the most part ceased. But what has now picked up, especially in December, are Sip and Strolls. What is a Sip and Stroll? Simply, it’s a downtown area usually in a small historic town that opens their shops for shopping along with wineries pouring their wines in the various shops. Visit one shop to see what shopping you can do and at the same time, taste some wine from a Texas winery. Finish there and repeat at the next shop. It’s a great time to spend an evening!
Here are the Sip and Strolls we know that are happening in December.
Taylor Downtown Wine Swirl
Taylor is east of Georgetown and Round Rock and the Swirl is Thursday, December 1, from 6-9 p.m. This is the inaugural Downtown Wine Swirl so show them some love! More information is on their Facebook page.
Lost Pines Christmas
The 5th annual Lost Pines Christmas Wine Swirl is back in Bastrop on December 9 from 6-9 p.m. At least 12 Texas wineries will be present for attendees to sample their wines while you shop. Check the Facebook page or the website http://lostpineschristmas.com for tickets and more information.
Sip N Stroll Wine Tasting Event
San Saba is putting on their 4th annual Sip and Stroll on December 10 from 2-6 p.m. A number of Hill Country wineries will participate and do not forget about San Saba’s local wineries Wedding Oak Winery and Old Man Scary Cellars. Check the website for more information and how to get tickets.
Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl
Also on December 10 but on the eastern side of Texas is the Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl. The event is from 4-8 p.m. and it is the 3rd annual wine swirl. The Historic Palestine Main Street District is the location for Texas wine, culinary pairings, and of course shopping. Their Facebook page has more information along with how you can purchase tickets.
Don’t forget the Christmas parade on historic Main Street in Grapevine, Texas!
