They say a dog is man’s best friend. But do not forget about a cat who many feline lovers would argue that they are a man’s best friend. Regardless, a pet is part of the family. And when a family travels and there is no convenient way to watch for those other members of your family, you may want to take your fur kids along with you on your trip. That also holds true when you want to visit a winery. But what wineries are pet-friendly and will accept you and the rest of your family?
Usually, dogs are seen at wineries including the “typical” winery dog, so even though there are different pets, pet friendly usually means dog friendly. Some wineries are dog-friendly outside only, although some allow dogs inside. Water bowls are also available at some wineries.
Remember though to check with the winery first to make sure of their conditions and always keep your pets on a leash!

If you’re in the Fredericksburg area and want to board your dog for a while so you can visit some wineries, at least one place you can use is Dogologie at a price per hour.
So next time you want to visit a winery but need to bring your pets along, take a note of some wineries who will let you bring your fur kids. Let us know in the comments if you know of other pet-friendly wineries in Texas.
I was told that Helmy Winery was dog friendly but they are NOT, very rude to us with our dog! Thanks for posting which winery’s are dog friendly!
Good to know! Thank you..you saved me a trip. No reason for rudeness:(
Pillar Bluff Vineyards in Lampasas, Tx is pet friendly!! 🙂
Added, thanks Gill!

Thank you Gill! Hope you always feel that was…. You are one of the very few.
I think Westcave is

Monty Dixon

Done and thanks Monty!
Kerrville Hills is dog friendly.
Thanks Wayne. Added!
We try to be pet friendly and flexible at Salado Winery. In June 2016 we hosted a “Dog Daze” event and had a couple hundred dogs!
Thanks for the update!
Lied!!! Totally lied! Woodrose was in no way pet friendly to my puppy. Texas wineries like woodrose are not friendly to pets. I hope singing waters and pillar bluff hold true as we love them so’
That’s pretty harsh. Glad you at least had a good experience at Pillar Bluff.
Perissos near Kingsland is dog friendly. They have lots of picnic tables outside to sit at.
Thank you. I’m surprised we somehow skipped Perissos.
Singing Waters not only has a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and a number of excellent wines, but they are definitely dog friendly (their Sweet Luke wine is named after their beloved yellow lab, Lupe). Your pups are welcome inside and out though not inside during wine club pick-up parties. I take my two 60-lb dogs there often. This is hands down the most dog-friendly winery I’ve been to in TX. Bending Branch Winery, right up the road, is okay with your dog on the patio, as is Highs on Main Street (wonderful Comfort restaurant), so go to Comfort and make a day of it. BTW I live in San Antonio and although I belong to the Singing Waters wine club, I otherwise don’t know the people who own the three businesses that I noted above personally. I just love Singing Waters and try to spread the word about the winery with every opportunity that presents itself.
Thanks Brenda for the information!
Hi Jeff, We have great, very large, all fenced outside space with water dishes for dogs.

Bell Springs is pet friendly!
