They say April showers bring May flowers, but in Texas, April showers bring May wine festivals. Continuing with the many April wine festivals, May has quite a few wine festivals too. Wein & Saengerfest

The 13th Annual Wein & Saengerfest will be held in historic downtown New Braunfels on Saturday, May 7. There will be Texas wine and craft beer, live music, a grape stomp, artisan market, food seminars, and more. Admission is free with wine and beer tasting tickets available for purchase at the gate. Wines & Vines Festival

We cannot forget our friends in the Lubbock area. The 5th Annual Wines & Vines Festival takes place from May 13-14 in Lubbock at McPherson Cellars. The event is unique because it is focused on giving back to the community by bringing several of the best wines from all over Texas to Lubbock. Piney Woods Wine Festival

In East Texas, the Piney Woods Wine Festival will be held from May 20-21. The festival used to be held in Mount Vernon but this year it will be in Lindale. Two days of wine tastings and food vendors will surely satisfy your Texas wine thirst. The website has more information.

Annual Texas Steak Cookoff and Wine Festival

The annual festival in Hico will be held on May 21. Besides great wine, backyard chefs from all over the Southwest come to see who cooks the best steak in Texas. We attended the festival last year and had a great time. Tickets can be purchased on the website.

Mason Soiree

This event will also be held on May 21 in Mason. There will be live music, Texas wineries, and the Mason Wine Maker’s Dinner created by top Hill Country Chefs.
