Typically, when you think of a winemaker or a vineyard owner, you think of a man. But in Texas, we have many women involved in the Texas wine industry in all roles. As the saying goes, behind every successful man there is a woman. There are many situations like this in the Texas wine industry where a couple owns a winery or vineyard and they both work very hard on the business. There would be too many to mention like that in an article, so we will concentrate on those who are predominant in their respective roles.
Here are some great women we know about. Feel free to comment on others.

Sulynn Bledsoe of Texas Legato feels glaringly missing here as co-owner, event planner, etc., etc., etc.
Understandable along with all the other women co-owners.
One of my goals is to be privileged to join this list in the next few years.

Thanks. Last I knew she and her husband Patrick both owned the winery.
And Fall Creek Vineyard’s Co-Owner Susan Auler … She and Ed were instrumental at the beginning of the modern-era of the Texas wine industry …
Barbara Lecuona, winemaker and co-owner of Siboney Cellars in Johnson City, should definitely be on this list.
Definitely!
