Vines on the Rocks is located in Dunlay, west of San Antonio, and is owned by Mike Brawley. Mike also gets help at the winery and tasting room from his son Michael and daughter-in-law Kimberly. Vines on the Rocks opened on October 1, 2013.
Vines on the Rocks is easily found right on U.S. 90. A vineyard is in front of the winery and there is a total of two acres growing Tempranillo and some Black Spanish and Champanel. How did the winery get its name? Quite simple; the vineyard is growing on a lot of rocks in the soil.
Tastings are done while standing at the tasting bar. There is a fee for tasting three wines. The winery has made one wine so the rest of the tastings are from other Texas wineries and also other countries. Because of the one wine, the winery produced 25 cases of wine. Glasses of wine can be purchased along with sangria.

Same wine but different labels
There is a large selection of Texas wines from other wineries available at the winery. Some of the wineries offered are Wedding Oak Winery, McPherson Cellars, Fall Creek Vineyards, Llano Estacado Winery, Lost Oak Winery, and Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards. Besides Texas wines, there is also a good selection of wines from countries like Argentina and France.
Food is available in the gift shop such as pistachios, jellies, olive oil, and seasonings. Live music and events are often held at the winery.
