Narrow Path Winery is located on Main Street in Fredericksburg and is owned by Robert (Bob) and Mary Anne Turbeville. The winery opened in late 2015.
The winery is easy to find on Main Street and is located next to two other stores that the Turbevilles own. Tastings are done while standing at the tasting bar or sitting at a table. There is a tasting fee for five wines which also includes the tasting glass. Narrow Path uses both corks and screw caps for their wines and the tastings are poured with a measured pourer. Oyster crackers are provided to cleanse your palate during the tasting.
The Turbeville’s son John was our tasting guide and he did a great job helping us and other customers at the same time who came in after us. When we told him that, he said being in the retail business for 12 years helps.
These are the wines that were available when we were there:
- Sauvignon Blanc 2013 (Lake County)
- Viognier 2014 (Lake County)
- Rosé Sec 2014 (Estate)
- Malbec 2012 (Mendocino County)
- Texas Select Red 2013 (58% Syrah, 18% Mourvèdre, 12% Carignan, 12% Cinsaut)
- Syrah 2013 (Lake County)
As you can see by the Rosé which is estate, the Turbevilles also own a one acre vineyard growing Merlot and Pinot Grigio. When they made their Malbec, they purposely did not try creating an Argentinian-style Malbec. They currently have produced 1,100 cases of wine a year.

There is a nice gift shop available with items from the other stores next door. A wine club is also available.
Now when you are shopping on Main Street in Fredericksburg, you have another reason to duck into another winery for enjoyment in addition to the other wineries located on Main Street.
