End the Year with Wine Festivals and Wine Trails

December 1, 2015 by Gloria Schlanser Leave a Comment

Happy Holidays

The year 2015 is almost over and that means the end of a fabulous year of wine festivals and wine trails. However, it’s not over yet, and here are just some of the wine festivals and wine trails that you can enjoy this month.

Wine Festivals

Lost Pines Christmas Wine Swirl

Bastrop has already started celebrating Christmas and will until December 20th, but the Lost Pines Christmas Wine Swirl is on December 10th. The event starts at 5 p.m. and you can make your way around Bastrop’s newly designated Culinary District tasting wine and food at downtown shops and galleries. You’ll get a wine glass and be on your way for a tour of downtown with over 10 of Texas’ best wineries presenting their wines. Check the website for information on the Swirl and other events.

Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl

The second annual Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl takes place on December 12th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Several Texas wineries will be offering samples and food will be provided by a local chef partnering with local culinary students. Do a swirl around the Historic Palestine Main Street District while enjoying the shopping and Christmas music playing. The Facebook page has more information on the event and where you can buy tickets.

Wine Trails

Texas Hill Country Wineries

Enjoy the largest wine trail in the state from December 4th to the 20th. Besides enjoying up to four wineries a day, you also get a collectable ornament from Texas Hill Country Wineries. There will be 36 wineries participating in the 2015 Christmas Wine Affair for the 17 days. See the website for more information!

Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail

The Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail holds their Holiday Crystal Wine Trail the first two weekends: December 5-6 and 12-13. With each trail ticket, you enjoy two specially selected wine tastings paired with a holiday appetizer sample at each winery. Even more, if you have your ticket stamped at six of the participating trail wineries, you will receive a commemorative crystal wine glass. Check the website and buy your tickets now!

Texas Independence Wine Trail

Not to be outdone, the Texas Independence Wine Trail follows their first successful wine trail event with the Holiday Wine Swirl from December 11-13. You will pick up your souvenir wine glass at the first winery you visit and then enjoy a taste of two wines paired with a holiday-themed appetizer at all seven wineries. If you wear your ugliest Christmas sweater (there are some out there!), the winner of the ugliest Christmas Sweater contest will receive a $20 gift certificate from EACH winery! Get your tickets now from the website!
