Remember that feeling you had as a child when you walked into a toy store all giddy with excitement, not sure which way to run first? Well, that’s pretty much how it feels walking into Total Wine – Beer, Spirits & More in Cedar Park, TX. And it’s only fitting since it now occupies the former space of Toys R’ Us at Lakeline.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, Total Wine opened their doors for the first time at their Preview Party and Ribbon Cutting. Texas Wine Lover couldn’t miss this opportunity to be the first to peruse the aisles and aisles of wine, beer, spirits, and so much more. Cedar Park Mayor, Matt Powell was there to support what he says is a great addition to Cedar Park retail choices, bringing a more upscale vibe to the area.
Total Wine isn’t just a place to pop in and grab a bottle, it’s more of a wine buying experience. With helpful friendly staff, a well laid out floor plan, excellent signage, and appealing decor and lighting, Total Wine takes your wine and spirit shopping to the next level.
At Total Wine, their mission is to provide the best prices, the largest selection and high quality customer service. This definitely comes across when you visit the store. All of their staff are well trained and super helpful. Whether you are an aficionado or a novice, you will feel right at home.
You can even sample wines at their tasting station and talk to their knowledgeable staff to find the perfect wine for you or as a gift.
The store is designed in a way to appeal to a wide variety of consumers. From an Old World section with rare ad vintage bottles, to wines divided by country of origin to new world varietals, conveniently stocked alphabetically and even by characteristics, you can easily find a wine to suit your tastes and budget. And if you aren’t sure, just ask! Someone is always available to help.
Texas wines are well represented in the store too. The General Manager stated that they want to do more with local wineries to educate the public about Texas wines. Total Wine strives to be involved in the local communities they serve, not only supporting local wine but also supporting local non-profit groups. In fact 10% of sales proceeds during their opening weeks will go to the Art Alliance Austin and Keep Austin Beautiful, so get out there and buy some wine to support these wonderful organizations.
Speaking of education, Total Wine in Cedar Park has a beautiful room where they will offer a wide variety of interesting classes. See their Online Schedule for upcoming events and classes. While you are in the store, pick up one of their free Total Wine & More’s Guide to Wine. The website also has a lot of great information to peruse such as the online Guide to Wine, Guide to Spirits, and Guide to Beer, as well as Party Planning Tips and Cocktail Recipes.
Not only do they offer a huge selection of wine, but as the name implies, they offer much, much more. You can easily spend an hour or more roaming the store browsing the amazing array of beverages as well as party supplies, gifts and decor, cheese and gourmet snacks, and even fine cigars.
The upcoming seasonal selections should be impressive. The skeleton Tequilla bottles and Dia de los Muertos beer kicks off the fall season just right. Must have!
Whether you are hosting a party of wine connoisseur’s or you need supplies for beer pong, Total Wine pretty much has you covered. We’ll see you soon at Total Wine in Cedar Park and Sunset Valley!
Good job, Christina.
