The summer is coming on strong after a lot of rain in Texas, and summer and June usually marks the end of the wine festivals for a couple months. Here’s your chance to take advantage of some of the latest wine festivals before it gets too hot to enjoy a wine festival.
Wine/Mead & BBQ Festival
At the festival located at Blue Lotus Winery/Texas Mead Works, you can drink some wine and mead in addition to tasting great BBQ. Plus there are two competitions going on: 2015 Amateur Wine & Mead competition and the 2015 Amateur BBQ competition. More information is on their website. The festival takes place on June 13.
Discover Wine Festival
This year marks the first year of the Discover Wine Festival to be held in Houston. There are 19 excellent Texas wineries attending in an air-conditioned tent (read NOT hot!). Best of all, we at Texas Wine Lover are co-organizing it and we know what wines the attendees in Houston will enjoy. It’s about time for a decent wine festival in Houston and now’s the chance to attend (or even still volunteer via the website). The festival happens on June 20.
Downtown Tyler Wine Swirl
The swirl is held around the Tyler downtown square and we attended last year so we can be sure it will be fun again. Make a trip to Tyler in East Texas and enjoy some great wines. The swirl takes place on June 27.
