April showers may bring May flowers, but while flowers are beautiful, us wine drinkers want to know what festivals are popping up in May. Here are some of the May wine festivals.
Wein & Saengerfest
The 12th Annual Wein & Saengerfest will be held in historic downtown New Braunfels on Saturday, May 2. Admission to the event is FREE. Wine tasting is $15 for 5 tastings and a commemorative wine glass.
Culinaria Festival Week
San Antonio’s premier Wine and Culinary Arts Festival is being held May 13-17. There’s a lot going on during this week long festival so be sure and check their website.
Piney Woods Wine Festival
The annual Piney Woods Wine festival will be held in Mt. Vernon on May 15th and 16th. With 15 wineries participating, it is sure to have something for everybody. Admission is $5 per person and tastings are $1 each. Admission is free from 5-6 pm on Saturday. Wine is available by the tasting, the glass, or the bottle.
Main Street Fest
The 31st Annual Main Street Fest will be held on May 15, 16, and 17 in Grapevine. The festival opens Friday, May 15, at 10 am and admission is free until 5 pm. Weekend passes are $15 and souvenir weekend passes are $20. The Wine Pavilions will showcase wines from Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail, Texas award-winning wineries, and premium wines from around the nation. The Texas Wine Terrace will be located in Liberty Park.
Rockport Festival of Wine & Food
The 19th annual Rockport Festival of Wine & Food is being held Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-24. Admission is $25 for a one-day pass and $40 for a two-day pass. Admission includes one commemorative wine glass and three taste tickets. Wine may be purchased by the taste, glass, bottle, or case. See website for additional information.
Texas Olive Festival
The third annual Texas Olive Festival will be presented by the Texas Hill Country Olive Company from May 28-31 and the festival on May 30th in Dripping Springs. There will be chefs, classes, vendors, and of course wineries. There are all kinds of tickets available depending on the events you want to attend so check the website for additional information.
