Warm gulf breezes surround the vines at Haak Vineyards and Winery in Santa Fe, Texas. Here, Blanc du Bois rules the roost, but Vitis vinifera grapes are a big part of the wine program at Haak Winery as well. Marta Lastowska is the winemaker and also tends to the vineyard. Her Spanish roots and Texas terroir make for very special wines, specifically the staples of Tempranillo, Madeira, and Blanc du Bois. Black Spanish (Jacquez), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec are also part of the portfolio.
On behalf of the entire Texas Wine Lover team, we thank Haak Winery for participating in our Battle of the Texas Tempranillos 2014 and to Marta for being a judge in the competition and sitting down for the podcast interview.

I had the opportunity to talk and hang out with Marta during TWGGA this past week. Such a great person and very personable.
