Were you aware there is a TX Wine Lover Facebook page? If not, please go there and do a Like right now so you can follow all the news and interaction on Facebook. Go ahead and please do it now. I’ll wait.
Okay, thanks! But now since Facebook is being particular these days and wanting people who have Facebook pages to buy ads to promote their statuses there, you probably will not see much of what we post. So here’s the secret on how you won’t miss anything on Facebook.
Go to the TX Wine Lover Facebook page you just Liked (or if you already had done a Like previously, thanks!). Now where the button says Liked, move your mouse over the button and a little menu will appear. Select Get Notifications. That’s it.
Now whenever something new is added to the Facebook page, you will get the notification under that globe icon that the page posted something and you can see what was posted and join in on the conversations.
It seems to be a fact that most people will interact with each other on Facebook doing Likes on statuses and commenting compared to adding a comment to a blog post. Perhaps it’s a lot easier?
In that sense, we try to add some things to the Facebook page which you will not see here on the blog. That’s why it is a good idea to Like the Facebook page and follow along there too.
For example, the start of the fall season has started with wine festivals. We volunteered to work at the Third Annual Dionisio Wine Festival. It was their third festival but the first time in which other Texas wineries also participated. Overall, it was a great success and the weather held out nicely. Since we were working, we did not get a chance to take too many photos, but here are some of the different wineries which were there.

- Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards

Last weekend we attended the Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival. It was their 8th annual festival so they have a little more experience. Because of that, they also had over 25 Texas wineries attend! We tried to take photos of every owner or winemaker who was present. Because of the large number of photos, it was easier to add them to the TX Wine Lover Facebook page. It also gave special content to all followers of the page. See the reason to go Like the page now?
There are a lot more wine festivals which will be happening this year so take a look at the 2014 Fall Wine Festivals page and see where the next festival is that you will be attending. Cheers!
