In an exciting weekend event at Majek Vineyard & Winery near Schulenburg, a short drive from Houston and San Antonio, Paula Patterson Walker and Jay Walker will unveil their latest works of contemporary art Saturday October 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Jay and Paula Pattterson
Both artists are former Houston residents and now “naturalized” citizens in the Hallettsville area. “What a great way to spend the day,” stated vineyard owner Lynne Majek. “We always look for ways to celebrate our Texas roots and support local musicians and artists. This will be an art and wine-filled weekend to debut new works from artists that our patrons have really come to love!”
“We met Paula and Jay, as owners of Bare Knuckle Screen Printing and Design in Hallettsville. They handle all our embroidery. In working with them, we found that they were, also, both outstanding contemporary artists…and we love Texas contemporary art! We have been very honored to show their works in our Tasting Room since we opened and have found that the Walkers have quite a following.” added Randy Majek.
“Paula actually has many self-taught techniques and attended the Academy of Art San Francisco. Additionally she has shown her work at several Houston area galleries in the museum district. She teaches school art classes locally and recently published her first children’s book The Land of Be. Both Paula and Jay’s resume of work is impressive and we look forward to seeing their new creations.”
Majek Vineyards & Winery is a family-owned business offering wines developed solely from grapes grown in Texas. The winery offers a family-style environment with wines to suit a wide range of tastes, along with local entertainment, artist’s works and food to enhance the tasting room experience. Conveniently located south of I-10 between Houston and San Antonio on Co Road 957 South of Schulenburg, the winery is part of the Texas Independence Wine Trail and is a convenient get-away from the city.
