2011 Bending Branch Winery Tannat Available at Houston HEB Stores

Comfort, TX – The 2011 Bending Branch Winery Tannat CM, Estate Grown, was auctioned in large format bottle for $100,000 at the 2014 Rodeo Uncorked! Champion Wine Auction benefiting Texas scholarship programs.

The cornerstone of Bending Branch’s viticultural success lies in its experimentation with varietal choices and winemaking procedures that will best benefit the unique grapes that best suits our Texas Terroir. The Tannat grape has been the core of its red varietal program since this research began. As well, Tannat has not gone unnoticed by wine professionals, media, and consumers alike in recent years. The Houston Rodeo Wine competition made the addition of a ‘Tannat’ competitive category in 2014 with great success culminating in Bending Branch’s 2011 Estate Tannat-CM being awarded the ‘Top Texas Wine’ presented by the George Bush Foundation.  Bending Branch Winery is honored to further the awareness of this under-known varietal with award winning organically grown fruit from our own Estate vineyards.

To celebrate the Rodeo festivities the limited production 2011 Tannat CM, Estate Grown will be available at ten HEB stores in the Houston area only.
