You may have heard in the late 1800s French grape vineyards were suffering from a parasite called phylloxera. This caused many vineyards to be destroyed and the severe blight soon spread to other European countries. Names of people come up which discovered the solution to the problem but unless you’re from Texas, you usually do not hear the name of Thomas Volney “T.V.” Munson from Denison, Texas. T.V. Munson was a horticulturist responsible for developing a rootstock which was resistant to the parasite and providing it to the French. You can read more about T.V.
