Homemade Wines is located in Odessa and is owned by John and Vicki Solla. The winery opened in 2008 and John Solla is the winemaker. The Solla’s son-in-law Brent Pendleton is the manager.
The winery is located in a shopping center in Odessa and was easy to find. Tastings are done while sitting at the tasting bar or a table. The first three wines being tasted are complimentary and every wine after that is an additional $2. The tastings are poured from the uncorked bottles. Oyster crackers are available to cleanse your palate.
John Solla started making wine in 2000 when he was given a wine making kit for Christmas. He decided in 2008 to open a custom winery using the same process he had used for years. Solla makes the six gallon wines using his own different recipes. He averages making 3,000 bottles a month.
Some of the wines available are:
- Sweet Fruity Wines
- Banana Pineapple Paradise
- Blackberry Blast
- Blueberry Bliss
- Pomegranate Passion

Pomegranate Passion has always been the best seller at the winery. Unfortunately I did not go through every wine to understand what kind of grapes were in the fanciful names.

Custom labels can be ordered for parties, weddings, and other events. Speaking of events, the winery can be rented for afterhours events. Wine baskets can also be ordered.
This sounds like a fun wine places to check out.
Can wine be ordered on line?
