Salado Wine Seller is located in Salado and is owned by June Ritterbusch. They planted a vineyard in 2005 and Salado Wine Seller opened the same year to begin selling Texas wines. Salado Winery Company started making wine in 2010.
As of our last visit in May 2011, Salado Winery Company made two wines which were bottled by Homestead Winery and these are sold at Salado Wine Seller. From looking at their website now, Salado Wine Seller is now selling five more of their Texas wines made with grapes from their vineyard or from the High Plains, and they will have one more wine coming out this summer.
If you decide to do a tasting, you can stand at the tasting bar while the wine is poured from the bottle. There is a tasting fee for five wines.
Only Texas wine is sold at Salado Wine Seller and it is sold by the taste, glass, or bottle. There is a nice selection of Texas wines from other wineries available. Other items are sold at the gift shop.
Events are held at Salado Wine Seller such as live music, art exhibits, evenings of yoga and wine, and a weekend of chocolate and wine.
A wine club is available called the Golden Grape Club which provides discounts, limited release wines shipped to you, and more benefits.
Salado Wine Seller is on the San Gabriel wine trail.
I know the next time we are in the Salado area, we will definitely stop by to try their new wines.
