Bell Springs Winery is located in Dripping Springs on Bell Springs Road and is owned by Nate Pruitt. Nate is also the winemaker. The winery opened in July 2010.
The first time we visited, a bachelorette party arrived just before us so the tasting room was full and loud. Fortunately the last time we visited Bell Springs Winery we had the place to ourselves since it was on a Thursday.
Joni greeted us to handle our tasting. You stand at the tasting bar where there are two tasting fees with the higher tasting fee letting you keep the wine glass. Tastings are free however with a bottle purchase. You get to taste whatever wines are available and the tastings are poured from the bottle.
The wine bottles use corks, and crackers and chocolate are provided to cleanse your palate and enjoy your tastings. You can also buy a cheese plate in addition to bottled water and soda.
No Texas grapes are used in their wines and instead the grapes come from California, Washington, Chile, and Germany. Wines are available to bars and restaurants in environmentally friendly and cost-effective kegs.
There is a small gift shop present with salsas, sauces, and wine accessories. The winery has a wine club in which you receive quarterly shipments of wine plus other benefits.
A covered deck and concrete patio are available to enjoy a glass of wine or listen to the live music events that are often held at the winery. Bell Springs Winery is a pet-friendly winery and well behaved dogs are welcome if they are on a leash.
Bell Springs Winery is on the Texas Hill Country wine trail.
Thanks for the post. Come back and see us soon.
Great post Jeff. What wines did you taste
and like? Did you bring any home?
Malvasia Bianca and Symphony came home with us.
