Rosemary’s Vineyard and Winery is located in La Grange and the tasting room is located in a building behind the owners’ house, Emmett and Beatrice Schulze. Another building is in the rear where the Texas wine production occurs. The buildings are surrounded by a beautiful vineyard where the grapes come from to make some of their Texas wine.
Rosemary’s Vineyard and Winery planted their first vines in 2000 and opened for business in March 2006. They are very easy to find as it is right on a main road.
When we arrived, Emmett was outside, greeted us, and welcomed us to come inside the tasting room. The tastings are done while standing at the bar and the wines are poured from the bottle. Rosemary’s Vineyard and Winery use corks in all their wine.
The tastings were free when we went but according to their website, they now charge a small fee for them. Emmett explained about their wines and poured our first tasting of their Texas wine. He explained how they do grow some grapes but also get other grapes from elsewhere in Texas. He said no grapes are used from out of state.
There is a small gift shop available in the tasting room. Overall, it was a pleasant visit at Rosemary’s Vineyard and Winery. If you’re in the area, I would recommend stopping by and saying hello.
