Texas Winery Club was established in May 2014, following the April 2013 opening of Red Road Vineyard and Winery located in Texarkana, Texas. The concept of Red Road Winery is to represent every Texas vineyard and winery in all four regions of the state and to help organize the industry. Owner Terry Willet said, “Our goal is to represent each bottle of Texas wine as if it were our own.”

Brenda is also the winemaker. The Forestburg winery opened in February 2007, and the Muenster tasting room opened in 2010. Since my friend Dave Potter and I would be stopping at both locations, we decided to wait until we got to the tasting room in Muenster for a tasting of their wines.
Fat Ass Ranch & Winery is located in Fredericksburg and is owned by Gail and Jennie McCulloch. The winery opened on May 17th and is located on Highway 290, so it is very easy to find. When we last visited Solaro Estate in 2012, we were told they would be opening a Houston tasting room and we couldn’t wait to visit. Gloria and I were invited to the Kiepersol Estates Distillery and Tasting Rooms Premiere so we made plans to visit other wineries in East Texas for the weekend too. We both had the Friday off and that gave us more time to plan something for our East Texas road trip. http://www.zinvalle.com Zin Valle Vineyards is located in Canutillo which is near El Paso and is owned by Victor and Kathi Poulos. In August 2000 they purchased ten acres of land in the Mesilla Valley Appellation (AVA). The AVA is located both in Texas and New Mexico, and the portion in Texas is located north and west of El Paso. They first planted Zinfandel grapes. Today they also grow Gewürztraminer and Malvasia on four acres.
