Weinhof Winery

Weinhof Winery - Muenster outside Weinhof Winery has two locations with the winery in Forestburg and a tasting room in Muenster. Weinhof Winery is owned by Larry and Brenda Thompson. Brenda is also the winemaker. The Forestburg winery opened in February 2007, and the Muenster tasting room opened in 2010. Since my friend Dave Potter and I would be stopping at both locations, we decided to wait until we got to the tasting room in Muenster for a tasting of their wines.

When we last visited Solaro Estate in 2012, we were told they would be opening a Houston tasting room and we couldn’t wait to visit. Colorado River Winery

Colorado River Winery - outside Colorado River Winery is located in Bastrop and is owned by Brad and Sylvia Cook. The winery opened in December, 2013. I visited the winery before it was officially open during the 2013 Lost Pines Christmas Swirl. I then returned to visit after they opened.

Zin Valle Vineyards

Zin Valle - sign Zin Valle Vineyards is located in Canutillo which is near El Paso and is owned by Victor and Kathi Poulos. In August 2000 they purchased ten acres of land in the Mesilla Valley Appellation (AVA). The AVA is located both in Texas and New Mexico, and the portion in Texas is located north and west of El Paso. They first planted Zinfandel grapes. Today they also grow Gewürztraminer and Malvasia on four acres.
